Can you describe a typical day in your role? What does your morning routine look like?
I usually start my day by saying a prayer for God to guide my steps and give me the wisdom to tackle any challenges I might encounter. Then, I write out or review unfinished tasks from the previous day. Afterward, I go through my emails and messages to check for new deliverables to pen down or begin working on.
How and when did you get started in your professional career?
I started my professional career in User Experience (UX), focusing on designing human-centered and habit-forming products. My interest in improving how people interact with technology led me to pursue this field. In recent years, I transitioned into banking to learn what experience looks like in the financial sector. Here, I apply my UX expertise to enhance customer experiences and improve communication strategies within the industry.
How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals amidst daily distractions?
I intentionally make time for self-reflection, reviewing areas I could have handled better to improve results on a daily basis. Additionally, I consume materials that promote positivity and keep me focused on my goals.
What tools or resources do you use to manage your time and tasks effectively?
I use a very attractive notebook and pen 😊, as I’ve found that writing tasks down helps me retain them better. For anyone who finds digital tools less effective, I recommend trying this method.
I also use a timer to manage tasks that rely solely on me. Basically, I set time on how long I want to want to spend on a task uninterrupted.
How do you continue to learn and grow in your field?
Over time, I have developed and maintained a growth mindset, which helps me see every challenge as an opportunity to learn. When I face obstacles at work, I conduct research or take courses to discover solutions which helps me grow from the previous knowledge I had.
How do you recharge from work?
I recharge by reading my favorite book. It helps me shift my focus away from work. I also get refreshed by getting long, restful sleep.
Many people underestimate the power of sleep, but it truly rejuvenates the mind. If sleep weren’t important, our bodies wouldn’t be designed to need it. Neglecting it will only result in nature forcing you to rest eventually.
If you weren’t doing what you currently do, what would you be doing?
Honestly, I’d be touring and traveling the world, experiencing new cultures, admiring the beauty of God’s creations.
What advice would you give to someone looking to kick off their professional career?
Seek God’s guidance, have faith in Him, and take the first step today, as tomorrow will never end if you don’t start today…so why not start now?
